Last October, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. announced that a new size with an unusual shape called Troublemaker was being added to its Diamond Crown Julius Caeser line. It had a soft launch that month when it went exclusively to 36 Diamond Crown branded cigar lounges across the United States. Today, Troublemaker is heading to all U.S. retailers.

Measuring 5 3/4 inches long, Troublemaker is made in a gently tapered perfecto, and is 52 ring gauge at its fattest point. The shape was inspired by a vintage cigar poster hanging in the office of Rich Dolak, vice president of operations for J.C. Newman and Arturo Fuente. One day, fourth-generation owner Drew Newman saw the poster and suggested they should try to make a cigar in the same unique shape. 

Due to the difficulty in producing this particular perfecto, the cigar received a saucy nickname on the factory floor but it is known officially as Troublemaker. 

The Diamond Crown Julius Caeser blend consists of an Ecuadoran wrapper atop Dominican binder and filler. Troublemaker has a suggested retail price of $17 each and comes in leather boxes of 20.
